The Great Ocean Adventure
The sun shone brightly through the crystal-clear waters of Blue Reef, where the ocean fish had their very own school. Every morning, fish of all shapes and colors gathered at Coral Cove to begin their lessons. Mrs. Finley, the wise old angelfish, was the teacher, and she had one rule: never be late!
But there was one fish who could never seem to get to school on time—Zippy, the little striped fish. No matter how early he tried to leave home, something always distracted him. One day, it was a beautiful shell; another day, it was a group of crabs dancing on the sand.
“Zippy, you’re late again!” Mrs. Finley sighed as he swam in, gasping.
“I know, I know! But you won’t believe what I saw today!” Zippy said excitedly. “A giant octopus juggling seashells! And I think he was winking at me. Or maybe he had something in his eye.”
His classmates giggled, but Mrs. Finley shook her head. “Zippy, being on time is important. What if one day, you miss something really special?”

That afternoon, the fish had their favourite class—Dodge the Dolphin! It was a fun game where the dolphins, Finn and Echo, played tag with the fish. The dolphins were fast and playful, leaping and swirling through the water as the fish darted away.
“Bet you can’t catch me, Finn!” giggled Sunny, the yellow tang, as she zoomed behind a rock.
“Oh, I’m coming for you!” Finn laughed, spinning around. “And when I do, I’ll make you do my Maths homework!”
“Nooo! Anything but that!” Sunny squealed, dodging away.
Just as the game was getting exciting, a dark shadow loomed over the ocean floor. The water suddenly felt colder. A school of fish darted past, looking terrified.
“Shark!” cried Echo.
Mrs. Finley quickly gathered her students.
“Stay close, everyone! We must stick together!”
But where was Zippy?
Zippy had been so busy watching a jellyfish that he hadn’t noticed the others swimming away. When he finally turned around, he saw the shark gliding closer.
“Oh no! What do I do?! Maybe I can distract it with a joke?” Zippy panicked.
“Hey, Mr. Shark! Why don’t sharks like fast food? Because they can’t catch it!”
The shark didn’t laugh. Instead, it swam even closer.
Just then, Finn and Echo swooped in.
“Follow us, Zippy! Quick!” Echo called.
Zippy swam as fast as his tiny fins could go, but the shark was getting closer. Finn and Echo zigzagged through the coral, creating a maze that confused the predator. Finally, they led Zippy to a hidden cave.
The shark circled for a moment, then, bored and hungry, swam away.
“That was too close!” Zippy gasped. “I should have stayed with the school.”
Finn nudged him playfully. “Yeah, and maybe show up on time tomorrow, huh?”
Zippy grinned. “You bet I will! And I’ll even bring snacks!”
The next day, for the first time ever, Zippy was the first fish at school. His classmates cheered, and Mrs. Finley smiled proudly.
“See, Zippy? Being on time makes sure you don’t miss the adventure!”
From then on, Zippy never missed school again—and he definitely never missed another game of Dodge the Dolphin!
